Pearl Harbor - Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii
Pearl Harbor has several areas you can visit. The USS Missouri Battleship and the USS Arizona Memorial are the most popular locations, but the Air Museum and Bowfin submarine are also neat places to visit. So much history in such a compact area makes it easy to feel overwhelmed if you try to take it all in. We managed to take in most of this experience, but we cut short our walking tour of the air museum to get some lunch.

Kualoa Ranch Movie Site Tour, Kaneohe, Hawaii
Kualoa Ranch is a massive area of Oahu, Hawaii. It is primarily a cattle ranch but also raises pigs, chickens, turkeys, and various fruits and vegetables. In addition, it serves several movie and TV studios as a location for filming movies, TV shows, and commercials. There are several ways to enjoy the ranch. For this trip, we had to choose one, and the consensus was for the movie tour. Come along with us on this great trip through Kualoa Ranch as we explore its history in television and film.

Manoa Falls, O’ahu, Hawaii
Manoa Falls is located in a tropical rainforest. Surrounded by lush greenery in every direction, this tall but narrow waterfall is a beautiful location. With a recently updated trail and adequate parking, it is easy to access and traverse. Amenities like sunscreen, bug spray, and rain ponchos are available at the entrance for purchase, in case you forgot yours.

Hanauma Bay State Park, Oahu, Hawaii
Hanauma Bay State Park is a coral reef nested within a bay that is part of a volcanic cone. It is home to a wide variety of tropical fish and marine life. In 1990, the bay became managed by the state to limit visits in order to protect and help rebuild the reef after years of neglect and damage from unmitigated tourism. In 2002, a marine education center was built to provide information and education to visitors. Today the bay is a thriving marine ecosystem.

Byodo-In Temple, Oahu, Hawaii
Byodo-In Temple, located in the Valley of the Temples Memorial Park, Oahu, Hawaii, is a replica of the temple of the same name built in Japan 9 centuries ago. It is a non-practicing Buddhist temple that still asks visitors to be respectful and cherish the peaceful setting and faithful devotion required in creating such a beautiful environment for visitors to enjoy. Built in 1963, it is a somewhat hidden treasure of Hawaii.
