50 Trout in 2 Hours, Part 4
I had passed this pond a number of times while floating the river that runs along it. One time, we docked briefly, and I got out to examine the pond to see what looked like some small fish barely breaking the surface. However, I finally got to fish it, and I was not disappointed. It was a wild morning.
First Time at a New Pond was a Success, Part 4
A subscriber suggested visiting this pond in Nampa, and I was finally able to make it out. The wind was wild and made fishing a little interesting, but the day was a huge success. Got into a couple of species of various sizes and had a blast. I don't know how many fish I caught in total, but it was quite a few. Changing to the smaller Crappie Magnet Jig Head significantly improved my hookset probability.
Finding Some Better Bluegills, Part 4
I was trying a different pond that sometimes has stocked trout, but I knew that was unlikely. However, I was pretty confident that there would be a few good-sized bluegill, if nothing else was biting. While there were mostly 4-inchers, I did manage to catch a few larger gills, and the trip was an overall success.
Fishing in the Morning, Part 4
Brown's Pond is a tradition; however, not all traditions carry on. My family has been to McCall almost every summer since I was around 8 years old. Last year, some things changed that would no longer allow us to visit as we once did. Despite that, Mrs Wandering Idahoan and I made the quick trip up to Brown's pond to keep the fishing tradition alive. Let's see what performs better: evening fishing or morning fishing (coming in Episode 14). Which time of day do you think will perform better?
Ice Fishing in the Snow, Part 4
After catching only 3 trout at McDevitt Pond, I made my way to Sego Prairie Pond. A few familiar faces were at the pond, and the fishing started slowly until I found the correct depth. The fishing heated up even though the weather was frigid.
