Pre-Ice Fishing the Ice Fishing Pond
I headed to the ice fishing pond that I've visited in past episodes. It's too early for ice, but since it has been recently stocked, I thought I'd see how the fishing is before the frigid temps arrive. The amount of vegetation was unfortunate, and made finding a spot a little more difficult, especially when sharing the dock with others. We all made it work, and everyone caught some fish. My favorite catch, though, was the last one. There is something truly special when you get to see fishing through the eyes of children. "Be free, buddy."

McDevitt has been stocked with some of the biggest trout the pond has had in a while. They aren't the brooders, but they are bigger than usual and a lot of fun. My day was made when I hooked into my first trout on my first cast. The rest of the day, while not perfect, was a blast.

New Pond - Great Fishing
Fished a new pond. It is much smaller than the pond near my home, but I started right off at a great spot and had a fun and successful trip. The wind made things a little difficult, especially since my rig was incredibly lightweight, but I was able to make it work.
