Fishing
50 Trout in 2 Hours, Part 5
I had passed this pond a number of times while floating the river that runs along it. One time, we docked briefly, and I got out to examine the pond to see what looked like some small fish barely breaking the surface. However, I finally got to fish it, and I was not disappointed. It was a wild morning.
Finding Some Better Bluegills, Part 5
I was trying a different pond that sometimes has stocked trout, but I knew that was unlikely. However, I was pretty confident that there would be a few good-sized bluegill, if nothing else was biting. While there were mostly 4-inchers, I did manage to catch a few larger gills, and the trip was an overall success.
Ice Fishing in the Snow, Part 5
After catching only 3 trout at McDevitt Pond, I made my way to Sego Prairie Pond. A few familiar faces were at the pond, and the fishing started slowly until I found the correct depth. The fishing heated up even though the weather was frigid.
Newish Pond, New Friends, and Great Fish - Part 5
I fished this pond in January when it was frozen over. I returned to find the weather was too warm for ice, but since I have the equipment for ice fishing, I will give it a go anyway. Turns out to be a great day. I made some new friends and caught several fish. Enjoy the show.
When There’s No Trout, Part 5
I went to the local pond nearest my home to see if there were any holdover trout from the summer. Since Idaho Fish & Game doesn't stock the ponds during summer, it isn't easy to catch any trout. Most ponds are depleted from fishing and from predators like Cormorants and Ospreys. When that happens, you move on to catching panfish and, hopefully, a bass or two.
