Smaller Trout are Still Fun
I returned to Mariposa Pond to see if the fish were biting like they were the first time I fished here. Things started slowly, but by the end, I saw great success. It was an excellent fishing trip on a tiny but fun pond.
Slow Bite but a Few Good Fish
My regular stocked pond has not been producing like it has in the past. This attempt was no different. At least this time, I was able to catch one excellent fish and a couple of average-sized fish. The Powerbait Eggs pulled through again. I tried weighted float and spinners, but only the Powerbait Eggs off the bottom produced results.
Wind, Rain, & Rainbow Trout - Part 2
I've tried this pond unsuccessfully, but that was no reason not to try again. I broke out several bait and lure options this trip but found success on my favorite. The weather was not very cooperative, but I endured since I was catching fish. The worst was when the wind and rain were both battering me. I rigged up my umbrella on my back, using my action camera chest mount to hold it. It was not ideal, but it worked well enough during the worst of the weather.

You Have to Find the Fish
Sometimes, you have to try several locations until you find the fish. Today was one of those days. I started at my usual pond, but with nothing even biting, I moved on to Settler's pond. After fishing the whole pond, I caught 1 fish that never registered on the line. In hopes of finally finding more fish, I decided to try Kleiner Ponds. I don't fish here very often, but I was willing to give it a shot. It didn't look good as I fished around the entire larger pond. The smaller pond didn't seem to be fairing any better until I found the fish. It turned out to be a decent day after all.
