Finding Some Better Bluegills, Part 3
I was trying a different pond that sometimes has stocked trout, but I knew that was unlikely. However, I was pretty confident that there would be a few good-sized bluegill, if nothing else was biting. While there were mostly 4-inchers, I did manage to catch a few larger gills, and the trip was an overall success.

Micro Fishing for Something New
Traveled to south central Idaho to see if I could catch some Lahontan Cutthroat Trout in the Grasmere Reservoir. The water was murky, the weather was hot and dry, and the fishing was difficult. I was seeing some small fish surfacing around the water's edges and decided to see if I could catch one of them to see what they were. What species of fish is this? Mountain Whitefish?
Micro Fishing (Last Resort of Late Summer), Part 2
It's late summer, the heat is high, and the ponds haven't been stocked in over two months. Fall stocking is right around the corner, but what does a fisherman do until then? Micro Fishing! I head to a local pond full of bluegills, baby bluegills. While it doesn't compare to catching big fish, micro fishing can be fun. How small can they get and still take the hook? Watch to find out.
