Fishing
Finding What Fish Remain
We are approaching the start of the spring stocking schedule. The local ponds haven't been stocked for more than 3 months. The cold weather has kept all but the most dedicated fishermen from completely depleting the ponds, or so I hope. Can I still find a few fish that remain?
New Spot at a Rarely Visited Pond
I was in the area of Esther Simplot Pond and decided to do a little fishing. Rather than take extra time to move to one of the spots I have fished in the past, I elected a spot right near the entrance. It turned out to be a great spot in a pond that is usually heavily fished. I caught 5 trout in about an hour, leaving me pleasantly surprised.
Frigid Sunrise Fishing
Fishing the stocked pond as the sun rises. Will it pay off better than in the evening? Honeyworms dominated, but as the sun rises higher, the baits start changing in hopes of keeping the fish biting.

Sunset Fishing in Cold Weather
Fishing the stocked pond as the sun sets. Will it pay off better than in the morning? This trip turned into a wild one where the usual baits and methods failed. Luckily, I had half a jar of some salmon eggs that turned out to be the exact thing the trout were hungry for. Once I made the switch, everything turned around.
